Established as a Centre in the year of 2019 for Advanced Materials Research and Technology (CAMRT) under the Department of Plastic and Polymer Engineering under “NAAC A” grade recognized G. S. Mandal’s Maharashtra Institute of Technology.This institute is one of the premier Institute in Marathwada region of the state of Maharashtra in India employing education in the field of engineering and technology. In addition, this institute is also known to facilitate research in various filed of technology. Under this institute, three research centres are established. CAMRT is a multidisciplinary service provider that provides solution to any technological need under one roof. The centre specifically has an outlook to promote material research and characterization. It is a unique environment integrating academic and private in the conception and development of novel research outlook. In addition, CAMRT’s focus is to up bring the skill of the young technocrats, students and faculties through organizing conference, workshops, faculty development program and short-term training program. CAMRT’s staffs are comprised of Professors, faculties, doctorates, Project Assistant, Accountants, Research Scholar and Visiting Scientists with experience and training in world-renowned research institutions from India. CAMRT has extensive collaborations with other academic institutions and industry groups from Maharashtra and nationwide. The general focus of CAMRT researchers is on Polymer Technology and Nanotechnology. Some current focus areas include nanoparticle synthesis, wastewater treatment, Membrane fabrication, composites, polymer Waste based packaging. In support of its research programs and for customers, CAMRT provides state of the art laboratories and equipment facilities in the B. Tech. Building of the Institute Maharashtra Institute of Technology, Aurangabad.

The Indian government’s Science, Technology and Innovation Policy listed a number of potential paths by which research can lead to development but the most prominent is that it will lead to innovation which will drive economic growth. It states: “Scientific research utilizes money to generate knowledge and by providing solutions, innovation converts knowledge into wealth and/or value. Innovation thus implies S&T based solutions that are successfully deployed in the economy or the society… The national S&T enterprise must now embrace S&T led innovation as a driver for development…. This is what science, research, technology and innovation should do: meet the people at the point of their greatest need….” The utility of the research depends upon the discipline and field of our research. There are a number of research findings which may come with novel results but do not have any utility in general. Some other research may have direct implications for change in the current knowledge, subsequently beneficial for society.
Therefore, our main focus will be on creating a utility of our research which may have wider implications to change the life of common people in a positive manner on local issues by developing alternative solutions, creating innovative multipurpose products at cheaper cost like solving pure drinking water issues, providing low cost sustainable ecofriendly nano-fertilizer etc. Collaborative and multidisciplinary research work with IIT’s, NIT’s and universities of India as well as abroad will be our another objective as a part of M-CAMRT, MIT, Aurangabad. Through M-CAMRT we wish to extend our support towards growth of economy by providing stainable solutions to industries and the researchers who are the pillars of building nation.
