Collaborative Research

A research project entitled “Sonochemical synthesis of polyacrylonitrile based activated carbon grafted layered double hydroxide: ecofriendly nanoadsorbents for removal of toxic pollutants from drinking and industrial wastewater” amounting Rs. 73,98,200/- has been sanctioned from Nanomission, Department of Science & Technology (DST), Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India. The project has been started at the Department of Plastic and Polymer Engineering and will be continued for three years. Dr. Aniruddha Chatterjee, Head of the Department of Plastic and Polymer Engineering is the Principal Investigator (PI) of the project along with Co-Investigators (CI) Dr. Subhendu Bhandari from the same department and Dr. Kiran Kharat, Head, Centre for Advanced Life Sciences, Deogiri College, Aurangabad. The Project has started on 20th September, 2018. Mr. Shyam Tonde, M. Tech in Polymer Technology from North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon has joined in this project as Junior Research Fellow. Advanced instruments like Zetasizer, probe ultrasonicator and vacuum furnace has been procured under the project which is expected to boost up research activities in the institute in near future.
